Selinda CampTented bush camp located along the Selinda Spillway in the Linyanti Concession of Botswana Set in the old African tradition, Selinda Camp is a small 12 bed camp under canvas, set in the natural splendour of the Selinda Spillway. The double tier, thatched lounge area, with traditional campfire, offers excellent views of passing herds of game on their way to the water.
Each spacious Meru tent is tastefully fitted with handmade furnishings and has en suite facilities with the showers fashioned into the natural surroundings. In each camp, drives take place at dawn, afternoon and evening in seven seater open viewing 4X4 vehicles with professional guides. Roam the open floodplains of the Selinda reserve, both on and off road searching out the big game, sometimes stopping for short walks and a more detailed inspection of the surroundings. The Selinda is characterised by its game-rich floodplains which are host to a variety of bird life (300+), antelope, zebra, cheetah, wild dog, lion and dry season elephant concentrations. Nocturnal species could include serval, porcupine, springhare and possibly leopard. Daily activities revolve around morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced, professional guides in custom-built 4x4 Land Cruisers. There is no doubt that the camp ticks all the right boxes, in all the right places, in all the right way…….or does it? To be honest the debate still rages in the office here! There is no doubt that Selinda is now a smarter camp and for some people the result is just what they are looking for - great food, service... overall all the elements that should make a lovely lodge. But Selinda has definitely lost that raw safari charm and character that it became so famous for and unfortunately for Selinda there are now better lodges in this area….it is such a shame….we so loved that raw character!
