Situated just off the Northern Tip of Chiefs Island, Mombo Camp is located in its own private concession in the Moremi Game Reserve. Built under the shade of large trees overlooking a floodplain that can literally teem with wildlife, it is hard to find an experience to match Mombo throughout Africa; The BBC and National Geographic are regular visitors.

Accommodation at Mombo comprises nine luxurious tents linked together by wooden walkways and rasied on wooden platforms to give guests the best chances of viewing game from their verandas. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with indoor and outside showers that overlook the floodplains and sofa areas that overlook the plains also; armchair safaris are not uncommon.

The main living and dining area are under thatch and there is an outside boma for dinner under the stars or for early morning breakfasts around a fire when the chill sets in. When the African sun is at its hottest the camps plunge pool is a great place for an afternoon drink and a welcome place to cool off.

Mombo's accommodation has undeniable charm but the quality of game is simply spectacular and is the main drawing card of the camp. Along with huge numbers of giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and plains game this is the only place in the Delta where the big 5 can be seen; rhino have been successfully introduced to the area and large herds of elephant and buffalo are common.

The main attraction however is the huge number of cats. The Mombo concession is predator heaven and lion sightings are often seen in the same game drive as leopard and the resident cheetah, all of whom are well known by the guides. Wild dog are also commonly sighted in the area; the game drives are unparalled in the Delta.
